Sonya is an easy and quick pattern, also for beginners. Sonya is spiced up with easy colorwork or it can be knitted in one color and without the ruffle. With this pattern you can make many different dresses for yourself only by changing the colors, recommended positive ease and adding/removing the ruffle.
SIZES: 1–12
MEASURMENTS OF THE FINISHED DRESS: Recommended positive ease. 8-10 cm or wanted.
Bust circumference: 90 (95, 100, 105, 110) (115, 120, 125, 130) (135, 140, 145) cm.
Length of the hem measured from armpit: 70 cm or wanted
YARN: Concept By Katia, Cotton-Yak (50 g – 130 m) or some other similar weight yarn
USAGE:
MC (white): 5 (6, 6, 7, 7) (7, 8, 8, 9) (9, 9, 10) skeins or 250 (270, 290, 310, 330) (350, 370, 390, 410) (430, 450, 470) g
CC (brown): 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) (3, 3, 3, 4) (4, 4, 4) skeins or 70 (85, 100, 110, 120) (130, 140, 150, 160) (170, 180, 190) g
NEEDLES: 4 mm circular needles. 4.5 mm DPN and circular needles for the i-cord finishing
GAUGE: 20 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm stockinette stitches
YOU ALSO NEED: Tapestry needle, scrap yarn/cable and stitch markers
Sonya is knitted top down starting from the front piece, after which the back piece is knitted.
When the front and back pieces are knitted, join the pieces to work in the round and then start knitting the colorwork part. Lastly the hem is knitted in rounds to the desired length.
Sonya is finished with i-cord finishing, which gives the dress also the desired length to the shoulder straps. After the i-cord, you can also knit the ruffle to the dress.
